Figuring out when workers should refresh their knowledge and skills can be a challenge. This is why Skills for Care, we have produced a new guide to support employers consider when their workforce should (or must) refresh their learning and how this could be effectively achieved.
The Disclosure and Barring Service ( DBS ) has replaced the Criminal Records Bureau (CRB) and Independent Safeguarding Authority ( ISA). Regulated activity providers have a legal duty to refer to the DBS which helps employers make safer recruitment decisions and prevent unsuitable people from working with vulnerable adults. Joint ADASS, Learn to Care and Skills for Care research into support to Individual Employers. The research was carried out earlier this year and the report was formally launched at the end of October at the NCAS conference. In addition to the final report an advice note for local authorities, good practice case studies and a list of PA networks is included.
