Safeguarding Adults Level 2 : Foundation

A detailed course outlining indicators and types of abuse and neglect and factors which can increase or decrease risks.

The knowledge base meets the requirements of the National Skills for Care, Care Certificate.

 

Target Group


Foundation is suitable for Social Care Support Workers and Health Care Assistants and others with frequent and extensive contact with Adults who have care and support needs.

 

AIM

To ensure that all care and support staff  and others who have frequent and extensive  contact with Adults  have an awareness of abuse and neglect and the factors which can increase or decrease risks and of their duty to report safeguarding concerns



LEARNING OBJECTIVES

By the end of the day participants will be able to:

  • Describe the principles of safeguarding adults and key definitions
  • Describe the different types and indicators of abuse
  • Describe what makes abuse more likely to occur
  • Explain how to respond to a suspected or disclosed abuse in St Helens
  • State key information to be included when reporting abuse

  

Please be advised St Helens Safeguarding Adults Board has introduced a charging process for non-attendance of booked training places on all Safeguarding Adults training courses.
