House of Memories

House of Memoriesis a unique dementia awareness programme designed by National Museums Liverpool (NML), to promote compassion, respect and dignity in care to support people living with dementia, their carers, families and care workers.

 

Museums are expert at looking after memories andHouse of Memoriesis the first programme of its kind, enabling the health and social care sector to access and create imaginative memory resources for people living with dementia.

 

The programme offers innovative training and resources, developed to support carers in the sharing of memories with people living with dementia, improving communication and focussing on the person rather than the condition.

 

This will include the use of Memory Suitcases to help engage older people with the past using memorabilia, objects and photographs.

Dementia Action Alliance Group, Dementia Project Group, Nursing and Residential Homes, Domiciliary Care Workers,
